You bought your plan tickets for Costa Rica to enjoy the holiday season under the sun? Cool!

If you’re currently planning your activities, be sure to book in advance because the high season is beginning in Costa Rica.

Here is a list of activities you should or not book in advance.

You should book before getting to Costa Rica
- Surf : Depends on the school you want to learn with and tides. You should at least contact some surf schools to have a chat about when you will be there and what are the options available.
- Manuel Antonio Park guided tour (ah!ah!) : Actually,I really think it is a good idea to book because we have a lot of demand and it happens that we are all booked. Sendan email to Pablo if you’d like to book or have some more information : Pablo better Manuel Antonio Guide.

You should book the day before the activities
- Catamaran
- Snorkeling

No booking necessary
- Beach, swim
- Most of the museums and parks
- Canopy

Have fun!

What are mangroves?

In Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, you will enjoy the National Park tour but you should also consider the Damas Island Mangrove boat tour.

We’d like to give you some information about mangroves.

“Mangroves (generally) are trees and shrubs that grow in saline coastal habitats. The word is used in at least three senses, most broadly to refer to the habitat and entire plant assemblage or mangal, for which the terms mangrove swamp and mangrove forest are also used, to refer to all trees and large shrubs in the mangal, and narrowly to refer to the mangrove family of plants, the Rhizophoraceae, or even more specifically just to mangrove trees of the genus Rhizophora. Mangal is found in depositional coastal environments where fine sediments, often with high organic content, collect in areas protected from high energy wave action.”
