Hotels we suggest

“Which hotels do you recommend?” is a question I hear often.

There are a lot of pretty good hotels in Manuel Antonio but here is a list of 4 which I prefer :

- The Mansion Inn
- Villas Nickolas
- Mango Moon
- Hotel Espadilla, Villa Bosque and Cabinas Espadilla.

This is the end of the month tide chart for anyone interested in the tour of Damas island mangrove boat trip. This is a trip on boat that goes with the tides.

The National Park today was great, we saw two types of monkeys : The whitefaced and the titis, we also saw both sloths 2 and 3 toed. For July there is not a lot of tourists. I feel that it really is an off year but like I always say it is great for the little companies like ours… today no afternoon trip (we’ll enjoy a little break!)
Damas Island boat trip yesterday was fun! We had 3 people that we picked up at Mango Moon at 2.30p.m. it did not rain. We saw monkeys really close and some small snakes (cat eyed and boas).
This is a great trip for a family, but it goes on the tide and as of tomorrow we start in the morning again pick up at 7.00a.m.
That’s all folks for now.
Thank you for reading this!

Perfect Day at the Park…

The National Park today was great. As usual we saw white faced and titi monkeys. The beach is back to normal no more big surf and big tides. The weather is great cloudy but perfect for a hike in the National Park. Damas Island mangrove tour on boat has been very good. A lot of monkeys and snakes , we just have not seen the silky anteater lately due to the full moon but i feel that after the moon they will be more visible.

Today was one of the best tours that I have done in about a month. We saw 3 types of monkeys close, 2 sloths, a boa but not the one from last week that one is gone. We also saw many white nosed coati, crabs and eating raccoons.
Tourism is still slow and the beach is still very quiet which is good for the tourist.

Best of the best

Still tourism is slow but as of next week I think that it will pick up a bit but the clients we took today 6 people are very happy in an empty park!

We saw the same animals as yesterday but no racer snake. The boa was in the same spot, I feel that he has eaten something and will be there for about 4 more days i will keep you posted.

The tides are back to normal so swimming on the beach is great again.

Be good and talk to you soon

Very good day guiding in the park

On the 22nd of June 06 I went into to the park with a honeymoon couple from Mango Moon and a single lady from a hotel in Quepos , the tour lasted 3 hours but it went by so fast. Right from the start we began to see animals. We saw 2 snakes, a big black boa and a racer, 3 types of bats, a lot of crabs, eating raccoons and 2 groups of white faced monkeys very close one group on beach three inside the park. The tides of the last week have done alot of damage to the trees near the beach due the the storms from Asia, i have never seen tides so big, but it has calmed down to normal as of today.
We also saw three toed and two toed sloths and a baby one very close to the ground!

Good day at the beach

Today the beach was a little bit more rough than normal due to the very large high tide..

We had 3 people from Hotel Gaia in Mauel Antonio area. It was a great trip alot of monkeys and sloths and white nosed coati which is a racoon type cousin…

The weather is great cloudy with a little sun but 90 degrees as usual.

We are in a slow time of the year but it is a good time to visit Manuel Antonio because you can have the park all to yourselves.

Until the next time, your tour guide

It’s raining in Manuel Antonio

It is the rainy season down here in Costa Rica, take a look at Quepos/Manuel Antonio weather forecast if you don’t trust me.

No matter the rain, we are still working here. And don’t forget that in the rainy season it is less crowdy, good for you!

In a few days, I’ll try to post a little text explaining why it is interesting to visit the park on rainy days!
